This is a stove in the Art
Nouveau style from the early 1900's manufactured in the Jura mountains
at Dole by Audemar & Guyon. The colour is a rich high gloss
green enamel, and it is decorated with exquisite little tiles
throughout. The tiles are diamond in shape and have yellow and white
flowers on a blue background. One of the tiles is cracked but this is
not a real problem. (visible in the last photo) It burns wood, coal or coke making it a
very versatile stove.
Fuel is loaded from the top.
Simply lift the enamel lid and voila a hotplate is revealed! Lift the
inner lid to the firebox and
pop in the wood or coal . The construction is of heavy cast iron, and it
is very heavy. It is in full functioning order and the firebox and riddler are all in excellent condition.
The bottom grate will need slight attention in the future There are a
couple of chips to the enamel,
and the top lid has a small crack in it. This is a stove that is more or
less 100 years old and the condition is consistent with its age.
This is a beautiful,
unusual stove and these photos do
not really do it justice.
The
dimensions are:
80cms H (31½”) x 34.5cms W (13½”)
x 35cms D (13¾”) and the flue size is 9.7cms (3¾”) 53cms (20¾”)
from the floor.
