Here's a good little stove by Deville from the early part
of the 20thC and was designed as an open fireplace stove.
We show it here with an optional bio fuel burner which
makes it as versatile as it gets. With a bio fuel burner,
there's no need for a chimney so you can get the benefit
of around 1.5-2kw of heat and the joy of looking at an
open flame. Installation can be any room in the house that
you choose, and because of its relatively light weight,
you can change its place whenever you wish!
It was made by the well known manufacturer Deville &
Cie of Charleville in the Ardennes between 1900 and 1930,
and can be found in their 1923 catalogue. This is small
sized stove, and is called a 'Cheminee a Panneaux' by the
manufacturers.
In excellent condition, and with the quality of casting
and enamelling associated with Deville. The stove
epitomises the best in Art Nouveau style and design.
This stove is a working stove, and as such it does have
one or two small chips to the enamel, but you have to
search for them. This stove does not come with the
original hook on ash plate, this will be supplied in a
cast iron finish. (not shown in the photos.)
Please note that the this stove has been thoroughly
cleaned , but not restored. It has been prepared to
accept a bio-fuel burner The mica windows are original
and have not been renewed, and the firebricks have been
repaired..
It is between 90 & 100 years old and the condition is
consistent with its age.
