"Helliver" Art Nouveau multi fuel stove by Deville Sold |
|||||||
|
This is truly a stunning Art Nouveau style stove by Deville, called "Helliver". We've managed to date it to sometime from the 1910's to the early 1930's . It is the bigger brother to the "Lilyver". It is in a beautiful bottle green enamel. The enamel has virtually no chipping save for a large on on the back of the lid. This is only to be expected for a piece that is over 80 years old that has been used to keep the homestead warm! This Helliver is a multi-fuel stove, lift the enamel lid and there's a hotplate that can be used for cooking. Fuel is loaded through the top hatch. The "Helliver" is in excellent overall condition, with only the chip on the enamel lid to speak about. The colour is really well defined throughout. The firebox, riddler and ash box are all in full working order. It comes complete with both removable grills as well as the removable ash catcher (this is often lost or broken!) The mica viewing windows have been renewed. The stove is therefore in excellent working condition and ready to use. Please note that the mica windows have been replaced with a top quality mica which will give years of service. This is indeed a rare opportunity for Art Nouveau lovers to own a stunning, living breathing, original piece of furniture, in a highly unusual colour, that can heat your home and keep your food warm at the same time!
