"Mexico" Aztec style stove by Deville SOLD |
This is a once in a lifetime
offer. We sold this stove last year and the client's situation has now
changed, so they have asked us to sell the stove for them. If you are looking for a genuine French Art Deco multi-fuel stove in perfect condition, then look no further. We found this stove in the Basse marché du Bourbonnais - the seat of the Hugenots, Bourbon Kings of France. This "MEXICO" stove by the reputable long established firm Deville, was found in a dark corner in the basement of an old quincaillerie (hardware shop) It has never been lit !! If you want an Art Deco stove that is practically brand new this is it. There are a couple of very tiny chips in the enamel but this is due to long storage rather than use, other than that it is in pristine "As New" condition. It comes complete with a matching blue enamel plinth and it's original tools. Take a close look at the Aztec design on the stove and you will see that there is a face of an Aztec Indian in profile, on each side of the stove with a double beaded necklace below. We cannot emphasise enough the rarity of this stove, being made in the 1920/30's and never being used...... it must be unique. It's one of the stoves on which we pondered - do we keep it ourselves? Naturally everything works as it should and you can see photos of the unused firebox on the left. If you are looking for something special then look no further, this is a stunning original stove and these photos do not capture the beauty and essence of this stove. The dimensions are: 73cms H (28¾ ”) x 47cms W(18½”) x 30.5cms D(12”) and the flue size is 8.3cms (3¼”) and the flue is 38cms (15”) from the floor and the hearth is 57cms W (22½”) x 36cms D (14¼”) . The estimated output is between 5 and 7 kw |
