"Cheminée" or Fireplace Stove Victorian Multi-fuel burner by Faure SOLD |

|
This French wood-burning stove from the 19thC believed to be made by Faure (unconfirmed) is in superb condition. It is black enamel in colour adorned with pastilles in a marbled effect purple colour. It has some wonderful detail around the doors, and the feet are also well detailed. It would fit quite well into a Victorian style fireplace or indeed any moderately sized fireplace. It has a lid that lifts up so if you installed it in your dining room it could also be used to keep food warm, or you could even put the coffee pot on it! Because of its unusual look, it will be quite the talking point in your home. It has some scorching around the door and it has one or two small chips to the enamel, but nothing that detracts from its individual charm - remember that this stove was made sometime between 1870 and 1910, and has that "lived in and loved" quality about it. . If you’re looking for a sympathetic “old” look then this is for you. It’s ready to install and light up! The dimensions are: 63cms (24 ¾”)H x 43cms (17”)L x 36cms (14 ¼”)W and oval flue size is 18.5cms (7¼”) x 7.5cms (3”)
