 "Sirius"

Log/multi-fuel burner

SOLD

This very quirky multi-fuel burner is called "Sirius". It's difficult to date this stove, but we believe that it was made just after the war.

The Sirius is a really unusual stove and has the benefit of being a front loader which is also unusual, and it really does throw out a good glow. It is all cast iron, and therefore a solid and substantial stove. It is finished in a vibrant royal blue enamel. It does have a hairline crack in the enamel above the right hand door and some chips to the enamel on the top due to boiling a kettle or some such. None of this detracts from its unusual, quirky charm. It is in excellent, working condition, with the grill, and riddler in excellent working order.

It has a unique riddling method - using the crank handle on the side, the fire grate is rocked back and forth thereby riddling the ashes. (The only way to describe it is like a gimbal on a boat where the object stays level no matter what the inclination of the boat.) Please note that the mica windows are in excellent order.

This is a lovely stove, the like of which we have never seen before. This is a great opportunity to own a genuine original, quirky stove that will not be seen anywhere!

The dimensions are:

Height 56cms (22”)  Width  50cms (19½”) Depth 37.5cms (14¾”) (including the flue exit) and the flue is 11.1cms (4¼”) and is 35cms (13”) from the floor. Weight is about 45kgs (100lbs)
