Smaller "Le Petit
Godin"
This is a great
opportunity to own
an early, slightly
smaller example of a
popular multi-fuel
stove, made by the
superb and well
known manufacturer
Godin who has been
around since 1840.
The
cast iron castings
are enamelled in
black and the lid
and "Godin" badge
are finished in
chrome, which is a
first for us. It has
a cylindrical body
on three claw feet,
with a decoratively
cast door faced with
mica. It is about
3-4kw in power and
can burn practically
every sort of
combustible
imaginable, however
it is more of a
coal/coke stove than
a wood stove. Fuel
is loaded from the
top. Lift the enamel
lid and there's
another lid that can
be used for cooking.
Open the inner lid
and load the fuel.
Once the fire is
established, add
more wood or coal.
It is superb
condition for its
age - estimated at
the middle of the
20th century, and is
ready to use. This
Godin is simply
outstanding, and
these photos do not
really do it
justice. Please note
that the little ash
collector which
hooks on below the
door is not there.
This was, at the
time of manufacture,
an optiontional
extra. This does not
affect the use of
the stove in any
way.
Black enamel flue
pipe of the correct
dimension can be
supplied if
necessary, please
note your
requirement at the
time of ordering.
